About

This blog is mostly for me to ramble on and generally whinge about stuff. I am a retired IT / legal specialist (allegedly!) with an interest in and knowledge (academic and technical) of the inner workings of the Internet. As a privacy and human rights advocate I have a long-standing interest in privacy, in particular regarding the Internet, and in surveillance. I hold an LL.M. (2007) in Cyberlaw and a Ph.D. (2017) in Internet privacy. I am also a fellow of the Institute of Paralegals and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Chartered Institute for IT and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Of course, it goes without saying that anything I write here is all my own opinion, although some will be backed up by peer-reviewed papers.
